Emmaus Ethiopia is operational broadly in Ethiopia with religious institution and particularly with evangelical churches. Since it was established in 1994 E.C more than 60,000 students studies or are studied all over the country under Emmaus Ethiopia ministry correspondence school. As a result, the number of students, who were only in the hundreds, has now spread like wild fire across the country. It has been proven in practice that it is a suitable program for different contexts for instance for bible study, people can study personally at home and office, for prison inmates etc. In 2014, Emmaus acquired its own institutional existence from the government and established by law and constitution with the permission of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia ministry of federal affairs. And also an affiliated member of the Ethiopian Evangelical Churches fellowship, Coordinating 52 denominations in the country with 220 centers. Emmaus Ethiopia is then part of Emmaus international which was founded 82 years ago in Toronto, Canada, with a vision and responsibility for distance education. It was in 1941 that the Lord gave the divine revelation to Ed Harlow of Canada, who was a founder of Emmaus international. It is an informal theological institution. In the 21st century, there are about 2 million students in the major languages of the international community. They are participating from all continents and denominations. It is therefore known by the user family as a global and denominational entity.
